What Singing Can Do For Your Body

Are you tired of hearing about perimenopause?

I think we all are.

And yet I do my strength-building exercises diligently to keep my body strong as I age.

Wanna know what else improves health?

👉🏼 SINGING! 🎵🎤💃🏼

That’s right - here are beneficial acute effects on your body from the mere activity of singing.

(For more medical information about singing and health, take a look here and here.)

Singing can:

  • Improve vascular function (the flow through your blood vessels)
  • Improve your mood
  • Improve endothelial function (again, related to your blood vessels and circulation)
  • Improve diaphragmatic action (breathing)
  • Improve cardiovascular health (your heart!)

You may be thinking, “I’m not a professional singer, I already have a job. I don’t need to sing.”

But listen, most of my students sing for FUN! They just love to sing, and they love how they feel while singing.

So if you wanna feel better physically (and emotionally), then you should start singing.

Your singing doesn’t need to be fancy, super good, or even impressive. You just need to sing.

I’ll be honest with you, on my worst days, all I do is warm up. That way I know I’m balancing my instrument, and getting my body moving in a way that is healthy.

And I always feel better afterward, even on my worst day.

So if you’re stuck and want to feel better, try this vocal warm up. You’ll start feeling better in no time!

Don't miss a beat!
